The Peninsula Beijing

Can you believe these are the 'welcome fruits' for a 3000-a-night hotel? We arrived around 2 PM, and there was no welcome, no one to guide us. I had to ask where to check in, and even after that, no staff member guided us to the elevator or our room. Once in the room, I saw these three apples, all different sizes. The room door was incredibly difficult to open, requiring a lot of force to push and pull. The bathroom mat was lying askew on the floor, making me wonder if it had been laid out in advance or forgotten to be picked up. This also seems to be the only suite I've stayed in that only has one bathroom. The facilities aren't old, but they certainly don't look new. Ordering takeout is very inconvenient; there's no robot, and neither the concierge nor room service will bring it up, so you have to go down yourself to pick it up. Personally, I didn't care for the breakfast taste, but the service during breakfast was quite good. Overall, I'm not very satisfied. Hotel staff also don't greet you when they see you.

I celebrate my birthday at the Peninsula every year, and this year was just as wonderful. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the food at the Lobby Lounge and Huang Ting restaurant is delicious, and the gym and pool are spotless. The service from all departments is exceptional. A special thanks to Rita and Stevin at the front desk, who, like every year, decorated my room in advance and prepared a cake for me. The Peninsula will always be my first choice.

The room was comfortable, and all the in-room features and amenities were easy to use and well-equipped. The food options were quite extensive and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, patient, and able to accommodate guests' individual needs quickly. Overall, it was an excellent stay.

The room decoration is elegant and grand, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing is good. The bathroom fixtures are high quality, and the toiletries are complete. The breakfast has a rich variety, including both Chinese and Western options, and the ingredients are fresh.

The room was excellent! 👍 Clean, tidy, and promptly serviced. They even surprised me with a birthday cake 🎂 because it was my birthday. I'll definitely book here again on my next trip to Beijing. Plus, the location is superb.

My first time staying at the Peninsula Beijing. Although the exterior shows its age, the rooms are far from old-fashioned, with complete facilities and equipment. The staff provides excellent service, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of dishes. The tableware, my favorite British handcrafted brand, truly reflects the exquisite attention to detail. The banana yogurt smoothie tasted wonderful. I look forward to checking out Peninsula Hotels worldwide!

I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite by Allen, which was incredibly spacious and even featured a home theater and a separate study. The hotel's facilities have been updated and are now smarter; I had initially been a bit worried about outdated equipment. The bedding was good, and breakfast was a semi-buffet where you could order dishes – it looked great, and the taste was decent. The location is excellent, a prime choice in Wangfujing.

I was on a business trip and received a room upgrade. I was really disappointed there was no smart toilet, and the welcome fruit was just three apples... Overall, it was still good, but I personally wasn't a fan of the style here.

The Peninsula's quality is consistently excellent, and the prices are more reasonable than in Shanghai or Hong Kong. Jane's service was especially attentive and she even upgraded our room. The only downside is the slightly congested entrance, but that's to be expected in a busy downtown area. It's quite convenient if you're cycling or walking. The Laksa at breakfast was a bit bland, but the service in the breakfast restaurant was excellent. All in all, I absolutely love the Peninsula's rooms and service! 💕
